Dr. Cesar Ramos (he/him), Director

Dr. Cesar Ramos joined the Cross-Cultural Center in July 2022 with 13 years of professional experience in higher education. He graduated from St. Mary’s College of California with a B.A. in Politics followed by earning his Master in Public Administration with a focus on human resources and organizational change from California State University, East Bay. In 2022, Cesar successfully completed his doctorate in education at CSU East Bay in Educational Leadership for Social Justice. His dissertation focused on sense of belonging for Black and Brown students in Catholic higher education which explored the importance of spaces such as cultural centers in higher education.
Dr. Ramos brings with him a commitment to enhancing student experiences through holistic student development, student organization/group experience, and professional staff supervision and advocacy. Born and raised in Los Angeles, Cesar is happy to be back in Southern California after living in the Bay Area for several years.
Daniel K. Park (he/him), Associate Director

Daniel K. Park joined the Student Life & Leadership cluster as Associate Director of the Cross-Cultural Center in July 2016. Prior to joining the Cross-Cultural Center, he worked in the School of Social Ecology at UCI as founding director of an innovative retention and peer mentoring program that served new students who identified as first-generation, low-income and international. Since 2007, Daniel has worked professionally in functional areas within student affairs including residential life, first-year experience, student conduct, academic advising, and student success initiatives at large public and private research universities.
Daniel earned his M.Ed. in Postsecondary Administration and Student Affairs from the University of Southern California and B.A. in Psychology and Social Behavior (’05) from UCI. He is especially passionate about engaging in critical conversations around racial justice and diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives, working with faculty and staff to create more inclusive spaces at the university, promoting and facilitating leadership development opportunities for students and staff of color, and mentoring students who have an interest in pursuing a career in student affairs.
Fatima Nuñez (she/they), Administrative Specialist

Fatima Nuñez joined the Cross-Cultural Center team in October 2021. They are a first-generation graduate from UCI with B.A. degrees in International Studies and Anthropology. They were raised in Long Beach, CA to proud Filipino immigrants. During their time at UCI, they explored, learned, and deconstructed the racial and social injustices that historically underrepresented students are facing. As an aspiring higher education and student affairs professional, Fatima is passionate in supporting students learn and develop themselves during their higher education journey.
Currently, Fatima is pursuing her M.S. in Counseling at California State University, Long Beach (CSULB) in the Student Development in Higher Education (SDHE) Program. As the administrative specialist at the CCC, Fatima supports the student staff in programmatic efforts and student organizations, ASUCI commissions, and campus departments with room reservations and event coordination.
Celina Janeen (CJ) Berenguer (they/she), Graduate Assistant

CJ joined us as a graduate assistant in August 2023. CJ’s focus areas include coordinating the center’s 50th anniversary celebration and supporting umbrella organizations. CJ is currently working on completing their M.A. in Asian American Studies at UCI.
