Dr. Joseph L. White Lecture

Section Heading

The Dr. Joseph L. White Lecture is an annual lecture series featured during the Martin Luther King Jr. Symposium. The lecture series named after the late Dr. White, also known as the godfather of Black psychology, features a prominent thought leader, scholar, activist, and/or community organizer to deliver a lecture that aims to raise our collective critical consciousness. We have been honored to have had the following luminaries and trailblazers deliver the Dr. Joseph L. White Lecture at UCI in previous years: Cornel West, Yolanda King, Tim Wise, Lani Guinier, Harry Belafonte, Julian Bond, Charles Ogletree, Michele Goodwin, Tavis Smiley, and Blair Imani. Last year, we were honored to host Yusef Salaam of the Exonerated Five. We are excited to have artist and activist Bree Newsome Bass deliver this year's lecture virtually.
