Professional Development for Students Leaders

The Professional Development Series for Student Leaders is a series designed specifically for those aspiring to gain social and navigational capital to be successful at the institution, in the world of work, and society at large. Workshops will discuss professional etiquette and communication, code switching, networking, representation in social media, financial wellness, agency building, and how these topics relate to one’s cultural identity, societal norms, and stereotypes. The series will be ongoing with programs taking place each quarter.

FALL: Week 7, Representation in Social Media Workshop, Wed. November 19, 12-1PM, Dr. White Room

This workshop will discuss the magnitude of social media, how we represent ourselves, and the impact of our identities. We will also explore the implications of how certain communities are portrayed in the media. Refreshments will be provided!
